…not the fame or the money
I caught up with the main man Michael Conroy, owner of the new record label, Koda for my 5 in 5.
1) When did you start the label?
2) Why did you start the label?
“Its something I’ve always wanted to do, so when I returned from living in Dubai, I set it up. It was the right time as I had the world contacts from my entertainment agent role there. The logo is [actually] a Chinese symbol flipped on its side, it symbolises a V and a C and means forever love. The V and C are my late Fathers initials, so, all in all, means a lot to me!“
3) Who’s involved in running the label?
“I’m the the owner and Charlie Sitaras, Oscar Mackenzie, & Alexa strogoya are the main people involved in running the label on a day to day basis.”
4) What type of artist or/and music are you looking to feature on your label?
“Anybody who does it for the love of music; not the fame or the money. Anything 4/4 underground I’m all for, but strictly no EDM/big room/big drops.”
5) Where do you see the label this time next year?
“Our first year we had 12 releases, for the second year I want at least 24 and then pretty much build on that: New Artists, New Events, New Radio Show – Koda Kast on LocoLDN (and hopefully Miami Underground), Charity Events, it’s is all in this year’s plan. Then next year is the same, but more of! Living the dream!!”
Make sure you check out Koda here to find out more about who they are and what they’re about.
